Chief Executive
Terence was appointed Chief Executive an Director on the Board with effect from 2 March 2009. His role focuses on core operations across the Company's existing assetes as well as new project development and investor relations. He was most recently Group Chief Operating Officer at Gold Fields where he worked for almost 27 years in various capacities including strategic planning, heading up the international mining portfolio, heading up the South African mining portfolio and holding various line management positions on operating mines.
Maritz Smith

Financial Director
Maritz, who is a Chartered Accountant (SA), joined Metorex in 2002 from Deloitte & Touche. He was appointed Financial Director in 2005, and in this capacity has overall responsibility for the Group’s financial affairs and reporting. Maritz was appointed to the Metorex Board as Alternate Director to Charles Needham in November 2007 and as Financial Director in December 2008.
Charles Denby Stockton Needham
Corporate Affairs
Charles joined Metorex in 1983. His specific expertise lies in the field of financing, financial reporting, management reporting, hedging and company affairs, as well as in-depth knowledge of and experience in the Metorex Group operations. Charles continues to be active in the interface between corporate and operational management.
Darryll Castle

Chief Operating Officer
Darryll is a Civil Engineer by profession. He has extensive operational, corporate, strategic and financial experience. Prior to joining Metorex, Darryll acted as Executive Director of Zungu Investments Company; and was responsible for African Vanguard Resources. He started his career at Transnet, has worked for Billiton, and was a fund manager and analyst with STANLIB Asset Management.
Darryll joined Metorex in March 2009, and, as our Chief Operating Officer,is responsible for the functioning of the Metorex Group mines.
Tim Williams

Group Mineral Resources Consultant
Tim Williams is Group Mineral Resources Manager for Metorex Limited. Tim is a geologist with 19 years experience in exploration, resource development and mining geology in gold and base metals through West, Central and East Africa. Tim worked for Anglo American Corporation for much of his early career, where he received a solid foundation in mineral resource estimation. Most recently Tim spent six years in Zambia as Mineral Resources Manager for Konkola Copper Mines plc, before a brief stint as General Manager: Zambia for TEAL Exploration and Mining Incorporated in 2006.
Tim joined Metorex in January 2007 and was involved in project evaluation. He assumed responsibility for Group Mineral Resources Management from May 2009.
Lloyd Bradford

Group Metallurgical Manager
Lloyd is a metallurgist and chemical engineer who was previously plant manager, consulting metallurgist and project manager for Anglovaal Mining (now ARM) where he spent 19 years. He has experience across a wide range of metallurgical applications, from precious metals, and base metals and industrial minerals to uranium and acid. Lloyd spent an additional 10 years gaining hands-on experience at operational level, and an additional 14 years in the formal environment where he lead feasibility studies, carried out design work, and acted as technical consultant.
Lloyd joined Metorex in 2005, and is responsible for all the Group’s metallurgical consulting and advisory services.
Colleen Ann Parkins

Group Environmental Consultant
Colleen has 15 years experience in mining environmental management including specialist studies assessing the impact of marine mining on the environment (UCT) (1994 – Oct 1997), Environmental Management Co-ordinator at Namdeb Diamond Corporation in Namibia (Oct 1997 – Dec 2001), Manager – Environmental Services for De Beers Consolidated Mines (2002 – 2003), Full-time MBA (2004), environmental consultant at Metago Environmental Engineers (May 2005 – November 2009).
Colleen joined Metorex in 2009 as our Environmental Consultant.
Trevor Faber
B.Sc, Eng (Wits)
Project Manager - Development
Trevor is a mining engineer by profession. He joined Metorex in 2006, and has extensive construction and project management experience mainly in the South African Platinum sector. More recently, Trevor was responsible for the development of the Blue Ridge Platinum Mine in Groblersdal.
Trevor is a member of Metorex’s EXCO and is responsible for implementing the group SHEC framework, and for general overview of all technical issues related to mine design, scheduling and implementation.
Peter Haworth

Exploration Manager
Peter is a geologist who has extensive experience in gold and base metals mining and exploration throughout Southern and West Africa. Peter previously worked for major mining companies throughout the regions. Peter continues to be responsible for the Metorex Group exploration programmes.
Dennis Alan Cooke

Project Manager
Dennis is a metallurgist with 16 years experience at Goldfields Limited as trainee, metallurgist, metallurgical manager, business manager and consulting metallurgist. Subsequently, Dennis operated his own metallurgical consulting business with involvement in projects in RSA, Guinea and Burkina Faso. He was recruited by Metorex in 1999 and held the position of General Manager for the Vergenoeg Fluorspar Mine for 11 years. Dennis has strong exposure to operations, general management, quality control and minerals marketing.
Dennis is responsible for the execution of identified projects, and for Group development and implementation of Health and Safety systems.
Sabatha Mahote

Process Manager
Sabatha is a chemical engineer by profession with experience in gold, diamonds and chemicals gained at Anglovaal, Sasol and De Beers. He has over 15 years experience in the industry, having held various technical and management positions in both the operations and head office environments.
Gary Baumgarten
B.Compt (Hons), CA(SA)
Corporate Finance Manager
Gary completed his training contract within the Energy and Mining division of PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2000 subsequent to which he joined their Transaction Services division and in 2002, PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance. Throughout his career, he has focused on the natural resources sector and has provided valuation, merger and acquisition, BEE, fundraising and structuring advice to various clients covering multiple commodities both domestically and abroad. Prior to joining Metorex in June 2009, Gary was responsible for the corporate finance function of Amari Resources International Limited, a private investment and exploration company focused on early stage equity investments in the resources sector.
Gareth Thomson

Gareth joined Metorex in 2001 and was appointed to the position of Chief Financial Control with effect from the 1st of March 2009. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant through Deloitte's and, is Group Financial Controller of the Metorex Group.
Nadia Janse van Rensburg

Group Financial Controller
Nadia joined Metorex in 2008 from the auditing firm Deloitte and Touche which she joined in 2003. She qualified by the end of 2005 as a Chartered Accountant, whereafter she was appointed as their Audit Manager.
Nadia is responsible for Metorex Group Reporting.
Gerbrand Van Heerden

Financial Controller
Gerbrand joined Metorex in 2005 and has both auditing and commercial experience. He is responsible for the financial affairs of Chibuluma and Consolidated Murchison Mines, as well as the Sable Processing Facility.
Jacques Lubbe

Financial Controller
Jacques joined Metorex in 2007 when he was appointed to the position of Financial Controller of Ruashi Mining and was based in the DRC. He was promoted to Financial Controller at Metorex head office with effect from the 30th of March 2009 and is responsible for the financial affairs of Ruashi Mining and the Sable Processing Facility. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant through Ernst & Young.
